The week stretches ahead......

Fairly good weekend. Pwned up the DoD:S servers I normally inhabit rather nicely yesterday, before going to Neds to play the final installment of Warhammer, which was very good indeed. Nick still hasn't broken his habit of "Oooh, look, a purely evil item! I simply MUST wear it!" and put on the We came out triumphant, of course, and set about new careers for our still-too-n00by characters, which took a while to sort out, and a heap of gold on necessary trappings. Some blagging witht the GM was needed in order to obtain equipment for some of us. ;)

Sat here, played WoW and DG and got steamed both Friday and Saturday night for wont of something better to do. Saved some money though.

Wednesday night I have a quiznight for work, which promises to be a good larf. Next weekend is Poppy Appeal day, Call of Cthulhu, and work on Sunday.

The other-half had a moderatlely successful meeting with the mortgage peeps today. I say moderatley because we can get a LOT of money tomorrow if we want it, it's just that even with a LOT of money in Guernsey it seems you still can't afford shit-all when it comes to property. This Island is a bastard to all it's inhabitants, unless you are a) Rich, b) Old, or c)Religious. Fuck Guernsey. Fuck it in it's inflated prices.

Looks to be a good week, I hope it stays that way,

I'm tired and I want Saurday to be tomorrow.

This week has been absolute CHAOS.

I won't go into detail, because I'll just wind myself up again.

Good things this week: More potential homes were offered to us, and a meeting with the mortgage people is on Monday. Work got us new mobiles with cool toys on, and paid contracts (even if it is only fo work use) and attended my first Guild Meeting and Auction last night with my new bunch of mates known as 'Lobotomy'. That was a great larf, and then we did a Dragon hunt afterwards in which I died a lot, but saw an anicredibly cool gigantic angry dragon pwning me and my Guildmates. Had an awesome steak last night.

Tomorrow is Friday, and my manager is over for the day. We must spend a LOT of budget before the end of the year, which could be fun. Tomorrow night I'm gonna buy a stack of beer and get wankered at my PC for a change, I think. Saturday I HAVE to finally take a look at the exhaust on the car, it's sounding rough a a badgers arse now.

OMFG I'm knackered.

*sigh* Where to start?

Joined a new Guild with a new Mage char on an RP server I've had Chars on for a while. Going well, power-levelled to 19.

Went out Friday night for Mr. N3d's leaving bash. Drank an assload. Went to town, don't remember much. Went to a party till 4am, went home, died. Good night, although I feel it wasn't to everyones tastes, I had a great time, so I'm told..

Saturday, stayed dead till 2pm. Got up, played WoW all day. Met more of my new Guildies. Went to a SLA game which rawked HARD! It was an Investigative BPN, awesomely well written and executed by Mr. N3d in spite of hangover. Ate and drank a lot of junk until 3am when we finished. Only 2 players in attendance this session, Stu and I. It was great, but very hard going on the ol' grey matter.

Sunday, died more. Got up, played WoW, all day.

Today. Wank. Wank. Wank. Wank. Fucking wank day, full stop. Tired, work sucked, Mrs. is in a total gimp with me and I dunno why. Some cunt at work has lifted one of my laptop stock, and we were 2 men down due to them being away on business.

Bah!

Fairly regular week, until today. :(

Thought I'd sort my bike, finally top the oil up, and go for a spin after work as it was such a nice day. Skip to the end: Oil was expensive, overfilled bike, leaks now, scalded all fingers in hot oil trying to sort it out, chips for tea, new Mage on WoW is struggling, really REALLY want a ciggy.

Kill, burn, mash, chop, slash, curse, F, blind, pissmittens.

Saw an old mate in the chippy after I scalded myself, which was nice.

Tomorrow is Friday. I have a half-hour in lieu, money, and a night of drinking to look forward to. I hold out hope for the end of the week, I really do.

Back to Work.

I never thought I'd say it, but going back to work today was great! I had purpose again!

Hit level 54 on WoW tonight, and got some l33t drops from the Demons in Azshara, so I hope to be in the money again soon.

Weekend was rather dull, didn't go out at all Friday or Saturday night, but had a great game of Warhammer on Sunday night. I didn't die, no one did, and the plot thickened nicely! Had to save a few Witch Hunters from certain doom, slay some worshippers of Tzeentch and stop a trial. It was great fun, even though we were 2 characters short due to the absence of Brett and Jim.

Another dull day.

Did nothing useful again today.

Completed F.E.A.R this afternoon... what an amazing game!! Once I sorted out the running problems with it (GFX card settings which I needed Hax to access) it ran like a dream, enabling me to pwn it hard! Gonna try the multiplayer tomorrow for a larf, and go through it again on Max difficulty. I look forward to the sequel games which I am certain are forthcoming, very much indeed.

Hit 53 on WoW yesterday, and already half way to 54. Went questing with a fun geezer called Pog this aftie, and we got a bunch of good drops. Spent a LOT of Gold tonight gettting materials to get my Artisan Blacksmith skill. Should be a good moneyspinner once I mine some more mats to make stuff with it.

Tomorrow I gotta at least get out the house for a while, I'm turning grey from lack of sunlight.

Bleh.

So much more I could/should be doing with my holiday, yet we can't scrape ourselves from the house.

Got a TV to sort out tonight for Mum, and I'm only 10k away from lvl 53 on WoW. It's Hollow Ween, and the Devs have decked all the towns out with kewl shit like Jack-O-Lanterns, costumes, and the ability to Treak or Treat other players. :)

Gonna test out Fable on XBox later to see what my sister has been raving about. That could be dangerous, you know.... I hear incredible things about Fable, and I do love my rpg'S.....

Think I'll take Amy out for dinner tomorrow night. Moores I think would be good.

Also got the new double-live album from Iron Maiden yesterday, 'Death On The Road' and it's fuckin' awesome! Highly recommended if you like both the old and new tracks. :D

Took Amy to see Serenity last night. She loved it, but was dirgruntled by the removal of certain characters on a permanent basis.

Meh. May post more later.

Good weekend!

Yesterday was great! Got some nice new 'phones for gaming with, and they sound lush! Bought F.E.A.R too, which is incredibly surreal..... loving it so far though!

Finished the Black BPN we've been doing for a while at last night's SLA game. Our media-person Ransom Shen (Ned) fell foul of a nutty war-criminal down around level 70 of lower downtown, shortly followed my Maxx Damage (James), our Contract-circuit wanna-be. Both got sent to rest in a hail of 11.35mm HEAP from the Crim's Warmonger. Only Harbinger the Brainwaster (Stu) and Ixus the Shaktar (me) survived the Black intact. The Squad received it's new members during a scary exfiltration through a darkening Cannibal Sector 2 in a ma-hoosive shootout with a Carriens horde! We are now pleased to have 'Beater', a 714 Chagrin Stormer (James), and Obscuro the Vevaphon (Ned) aboard with Squad Frelled. After payments were dispatched, sponsors spoken too, and equipment replaced or repaired, I made a tidy 1k in Credits profit. Funny how the Humans always get trashed in SLA, and the Alien race characters last out.... still, being a 7' 4" blood-red scaley alien with horns, fangs and a tail may have something to do with it!

Played Airsoft today for the first time in a couple of months. Low turnout, and constant rain made the day huge fun, except my poor ol' M60 gave up the ghost and won't feed now. *sigh* A full rebuild will probably be needed, and parts sourced.

Now, it's time to chillax, eat at last, and dry out from the days gaming which resulted in a well-fought draw. My treasured AK47 remains unphased by the soaking it got, huzzah! Met some very nice players from Jersey today too. I likes meeting new people. :)

Ahhh, holidays! :)

Had a great game of Warhammer on Sunday night, and did not fall asleep despite my being tired, and did not get killed. Mr. N3d excelled again and got us through two chapters of the campaign in one hit.

Yesterday, took care of a few things that needed doing out and about, then went to see my Gran for an hour. Taught her how to work the new DVD player Mum got her for her birthday on Friday..... I think she grasped the concept of DVD pretty well to say she's well over 80. :)

Played a bit of DoD and a lot of WoW yesterday too. I'm currently dossing around the Un'Goro Crater looking for shit for quests and killing dinosaurs. It's expensive, tiring, and not overly rewarding tbh, but lvl 51 is not far off now. :)

Aaaargh! T3h P41n!!!!

Hangovers. I fucking hate hangovers. So why, oh why, can I not for once, go out for the proverbial 'few beers', and only actually have a few beers instead of shit-loads? Had to be to work for 9 this morning for a spot of overtime too. Got up at 8 after going to bed at nearly 4:30, still absolutely fuck-faced and reeking of booze, staggered out to the wagon and turned up at work on time, but almost too pissed up to do anything, But, I had to knuckle down to earn my dough, and set about re-cabling desks, setting up User kit and patching in floorboxes with as much gusto as I could muster. Judging by the fact that it was supposed to be 2 hours work and took 7 and a half, plus the looks I got from my buddies in Project Office, this was a very minute amount of gusto.

Still, it was a good party! A friend just turned 30, so being a biker, the party was held at the clubs private bar, and everyone got well leathered. I'm the twat who didn't give up when he should have, and now I'm suffering for it LARGE stylee. Fuck.

Got a warhammer game tonight, which promises to be fun on the bun! :) Will my ill-tempered, axe-weilding, tomb-robbing Dwarf live to fight another day? I'll probably wake up with a D20 stuck in my forehead and a small puddle of drool on my game sheets to find out my Dwarven buddy croaked it in some random encounter. I really need sleep. Really, really, really need sleep.

I know I'm running on fumes again because I woke up this morning to find my ailment has worsened significantly over night, and the night before didn't help either probably. (Played DoD till x o'clock in the AM again.. )

Oh well.

27 on Thursday. Great. Yet more family/friends/partner related conflict on how they would like to celebrate with me this year. Dad called today and was well excited about asking me if we would like to go out with him for a meal. I casually mentioned that Amy was possibly planning something already, then proceeded to watch his crest fall over the telephone. Sounds hard, I know, but it was possible at that moment. So, feeling like a bastard, I consulted the Oracle that is my other half, who said it was cool, and we could go out with Dad instead. A safe compromise. I hope. All depends on what Mother wants to do...

Hmm. Better change and de-stinkify to go out. Can't sit here talking bollocks all day, can I? Still, no work for two fucking weeks, baby! Hoo-Yah! :D

I highly, highly recommend this movie, even if you've not watched the TV series!

Up to rank 8 on the server now, but finding it difficult to hang onto. Keep getting killed in silly ways and dropping my percentages. :(

No WOW today.

Found out me bezzie mate has split up with his girlfriend.
Good Day, Bad Day.

Not a bad day, on the whole, but was marred at the close by my having a falling out with a dear friend over nothing at all.

Damnit, I hate it when that happens.

Still, hit rank 10 on the DoD server, and made lots of French peeps ph34r my 1337 DoD 5k1llz0rz this afternoon after work. Smackdown was delivered swiftly to the rat-a-tat-tat of an StG44. ;)

Boshed a few Quests out of my journal on WoW too, just to clear space and get a bit of free XP. Being lvl50 is starting to show it's benefits already. I pwned a few Alliance n00bs in the Arena (until I got trounced by a lvl60 Nelf Rogue. Damn ninjas.... hehe.)

Work was a no-brainer today. Just fixed some crap, had a couple of meetings, and then went home at 5 feeling largely unfulfilled. I hate unproductive days.

Then I had 'the argument', now I'm here, and then I'm off to bed.

Tomorrow is Friday. Off to the Cinema tomorrow night with the Lads to see 'Serenity'. Should be good. :) Looking forward to that a lot. *nods*

I <3 Corporate junkets

I love going on work trips. Even if it's just for a day, it's still great! And guess what?

That's right folks, today, I went on a day-junket!

It wasn't awesome fun, just an all-day I.T Dept. meeting at our Jersey branch, but it was a welcome break from the norm. Learned a few interesting nuggets of info (nothing blackmail-worthy, sadly) and our little forum was able to safely render most of the Departments problems over to upper management-types without upsetting anyone. Always a bonus in my book.

We set in place all kinds of radical departmental changes, which start the day I go on on my 2 week annual leave, Monday! Incidentally, my manager has today defied me to reach level 60 in WoW in my Holidays, and I aim to do so. I cannot disappoint him!

However, this does have a sucky side. Going on holiday on Monday means under no circumstances I am allowed contact with the company, or to go into the buildings, thus meaning I could return from 2 weeks of bliss into only fuck knows what... Meh. It could be worse. I could still be doing my old job, with no junkets! Ooh, and I have two days to resolve all outstanding jobs before I go on leave.... ouch.

Got home nice and on time, and fired up t3h Day of Defeat. Proceeded to deliver the expected amount of pwnage I usually do, but found some irritating n00bs on the server who think it's still CS:S, so I went into WoW instead. Tried to make some money, but it was hard to concentrate with DoD still rattling around my head. Why can't Blizzard ally with Valve and combine the two? My life would be sooooo much easier.

Woo-Yay-Houpla!

My DSL am work again! Nipped out of the office for an hours Lunch and thought, bugger it, I'll take a spin home and test my router out..... Lo and Behold, it connected first time. 'Phoned the TelCo, who had last night pleaded innocence/ignorance "There are no problems, Sir, your kit and line tested perfectly."

BOLLOCKS, I SAY!

My card in the exchange needed rebooting. They did that, and here I am.

rrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAWR!!! X¬O

Heh. First real post, and it's a rant.....

Ok, so, I got home last night, after a not so great day, thinking to myself "Ahh! A few hours online will calm my shattered nerves." Had a few rounds of DoD pwanage planned, followed by a couple hours of WoW and some musical-downloadage...

I fire up, log my machines in, and OMGWTF?? What the shit is this? No connectivity..... I suspect HAX.... but it's my DSL that seems to be dead.

Skip to the end: ISP useful, TelCo useless, router confiured properly, still no DSL. Hmph.

The anguish of no connectivity I can (beleive it or not) live without, it's all the bullshit of having to get it fixed that really grips my shit. Getting bounced between my ISP and the Telecomms Company is getting really fucking old now.

*sigh*

Today is dragging like a motherfucker too, lunch time seems like a life-time away, I feel like I've been here a year when it's only 75 minutes, and 5pm won't come around nearly fast enough. That, and Applications Support have found copies of PaintShop Pro 9 and are currently raiding the servers for staff photos to manipulate. Guess who's they found first? Bah! There is now an A4 glossy drifting around he Bank of me with green hair, pool balls for eyes, and butterflies circling my head.....

On the upside, I did get some new clothage yesterday, which is never a bad thing.

Ok, so here it is... The Beginning.

What better place to start than, well, the start?

Ok. So, a short while ago I was under the impression that LJ was just a melting pot of varying degrees of "teen-angst", or a place for web-cibitionists to put their problems on a pedestal for the rest of the LJ community to read and agree/pass comment upon.

I have since been re-educated, have no fear.

A great friend of mine has an LJ, and after I made fun of him about it, and he had defended himself admirably, I thought, "Hmm. May'hap the chap has a point there....". And thus is was that I came, I read, I repented, and started my own!

Welcome, reader, to the whirling maelstrom that is my life and times.....
